Sharp is an Rochester area native who studied clarinet at Hochstein School of Music. Sharp also played piano as well as cello. The Boston Conservatory offered her an award for the theatre classes at her school. She received her B.F.A. was awarded to Sharp upon her graduation. Sharp decided to make a move into the theatre following her graduation from Cum Laude with an B.F.A.
